Sitecraft was asked to manufacture a purpose-built order picking trolley for use in a busy fulfillment centre.The requirement was for a lightweight and a highly maneuverable trolley that could easily and safely be used to pick and transport goods for dispatch. Additionally, multiple trolleys needed to be towed together to enable a single operator to efficiently move orders from storage and picking locations to packing and dispatch areas.The trolleys quick coupling hitch allows trolleys to be easily connected for towing with a pedestrian operated battery/electric tugger. The trolleys clever design allows for maximum maneuverability even when towing multiple units. All parties need to be made aware of the safe operating and maintenance procedures so as to minimise the risk of injury and or damage to equipment. Workers/operators should be made aware of the safe use of wheeled equipment particularly in respect to ramps, floor surfaces, doors, travel routes and conditions of loading and unloading. Employees should also be made aware of maintenance procedures so they can identify and remove faulty or worn equipment from service.
